At a certain point when
a monogrammed
white coat and
stethoscope
say
you’ve got engine
problems
you start to think
maybe not all the
time but sometimes
what if
the engine
what if it explodes
in my
chest
is this the last afternoon
to set sail upon loosely
connected thoughts
and the sight of clouds
like Spanish galleons
and
if so
what of the view
from the quarterdeck
